It's a weird thing, really, that lots of sites still put the 404 error to tell people that a page doesn't exist or can't be found.
Why put this arcane hypertext transfer protocol standard response code (that's what it is according to Wikipedia) to tell people that?
It might have made sense 20 years ago, and maybe it still does.
